Leaky window tips?

Postby CaptEditor » Thu Mar 04, 2010 2:41 pm

I'm the proud new owner of a Hunter Shadow HU-3, however, after the last big storm I noticed a very small water leak around the window. The window looks very similar to the slider available here:

I'm new to teardrops and have no experience with the construction of them. Where should I start as far as repairing the leak? What are the common solutions to leaky windows?

You need to take off the window to see the extent of the damage. It might be worse than you think. :(

Good news is, once you have it off, if everything is okay then fixing it should be easy. Just reinstall with new sealing tape, and you should be okay assuming the joints and not the window itself were the problem. If the window itself is the source of the leak, replace and reinstall! It's all pretty straightforward.
