I thought they all had dents, dingies, and other thingies in the wood. I've always called it "character" even better patina. Everybody just "loves' patina.

Critter....sand it all down with like an 80 grit....do 1 coat of regular epoxy...the top coat catalyst...sand...fill all the holes, divots, marks etc, with microballoons, bondo or whatever you choose...sand that part down...then a couple more coats of epoxy with sanding inbetween, use a firm rubber block and that will knock down the high spots or be real careful as using the edge of the sander you'll get some waves in it....then paint...I've never had 1 coat of epoxy cover up everything so that I could shoot paint on it...it just isn't smooth enough...all is not lost, and if you put skins on the exterior...you're going to go through the same stuff on them anyway, only they may not lay down as flat as you would like and then you have a big high spot to take care of...You can't rush that type of finish, takes time and patience, and lots of sanding...don't give up, just chalk it up to a learning lesson, you've learned lots of things that don't work, unfortunately, you can't get back the time and the dough spent on that part...Doug

Just go buy two sheets of luan and glue to the sides. Then route off the excess. You have two perfectly smooth surfaces with no holes or screws showing.

I just went out and checked. As I walked up I could see the legs but when I opened the door there wasn't anybody in there. I have a haunted tear. :frightened:

Depends on the paint you used and how thick you put it on... Latex? I'd say it wouldn't be dry yet. 2.) Enamel? it DEF is not dry and hard yet. 3.) 2 part-epoxy paint - I'd think it'd be dry after a week.
I think you'll find you're going to get lots of clogging at this early stage. Since you are "taking" it down, I'd go get some chemical stripper and let it do it's thing (just try not to get it on the chasis so you don't create more work) - get the BULK of it off, then sand to get it re-smoothed so you can fair and fill as you find necessary.
