Various questions on waterproofing/painting

I'm doing a test now where I paint a common paper bag with the mixture , fill it with water , and see how long it takes to leak ... or if it will leak at all ...??? Results forthcoming !!
I'm sure all these other products work Super, I'm just a cheap old ba****d

Well there are at least two of us cheap ba****ds. I mixed up some of that formula and have applied it to various kinds of woods. A piece of solid oak, some cheapo plywood and some pine. I'm amazed by how well this stuff penetrates. I put on two coats and then I threw them out in the dirt out back. I'm going to let them get a winters worth of exposure and see what they look like when the snow (several feet of it) melts. So far we've only gotten rain but it has been raining pretty well for the past 5 days.

It looks like an early winter here in the Sierras. Going camping this weekend with my buddy. Hope I don't freeze my a$$ off
