Wow, that's great!

If you are going to spend that much, and have the extra height in your walls, I would recommend that.

I went up to Vintek and picked up some things from Frank; including a set of 26x36 doors !

Stuff you didn't even know you needed. I about doubled my original budget with those type of additions.

Anybody use any of those rubber door stops (or something you made instead) to prevent your doors from slamming up against the sides?

I've seen two different types, both are round and inch tall: one is inch wide, the other is 2.5 inches wide.

Thanks in advance!

How about something simple a childs red rubber ball or maybe a tennis ball on a little masons line. Toss it over the door when its open and reel it inside when in transit.

Hey, that's a GREAT idea!

I was focused on having something a bit more permanent, for in those unexpected cases when a gust comes up or you aren't paying attention...and then, bang!

My main concern is just how unsightly they might be.

But you've got a really good idea -- thanks!!

Don't thank me thank my rather ingenuious grandfather.

Grandma would raise cain when their wooden storm door would slam so he attached a small rubber ball on a very short string if the door was traveling too fast the ball swung out with centrifical force and cushioned the door and the door trim the second bounce there was not enough centrifical force to swing the ball out and it closed normally from 3-4 inches away.

I learned a lot at Grandpa's side.

Or like me pulled in for gas and noticed the passenger side door on the trailer was swung full open. Thank God my camp chair was wedged in the door opening or I might have left a trail of camping equipment on the interstate. So I latched it AND locked it.

Question on the Little Guy Doors. There are two wedge shaped plastic parts stuck on with some kind of sticky putty in the door jam on the same side as the latch. Are those temporary for install? am I supposed to take them out? They sure make the door hard to close. Eventually I think they will fall out anyway.

Finally found a good alternative to the Little Guy doors.

I saw a set of similar doors on a manufactured teardrop....I think it was an American Teardrop.

Challenger door makes them. You won't find them on their site but you can email for info. I was told that they run about $172 US per door + shipping. They measure 32" x26".

Hope that helps someone. I've already built my own doors for my newest build so I won't be using them. However, more info is always good news.

Cheers.
