Windows

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

Paul,

I don't care for those windows, but thanks. I'm looking very specifically for the ones I showed at the first of this thread. Actually, I'd prefer a 3 panel window, but 2 panels as in this picture would be fine.

Hi Chris, That's Okay. I seem to recall that we have a manufacturer over here that does do that style of window. I will keep an eye on this thread and see how you get on with them.
Cheers
Paul

There are still quite a few manufacturers of Jalousie windows for homes. But I can't find any that make them small enough.

Thanks, rainjer, I missed your previous post. I'll give them a call. But I'm really looking for new windows if I can find them.

I am working on a Woody design also. About 7 years ago I bought 3 awning style windows at Menards. They were 18"wX24"h and are 4 panels. This Menards was out in Farm country where people use these in out buildings. My local Chicago Menards do not have them. Next week I will be back in Farm country and I will check. If they have them I will post it.

Chris,
I checked today and can get those windows. Double hopper, new. $55 each. I drive past the place every day, so let me know if you want them. I'll pick em up and hold em for you.

Tearsandsweat,

Yea I got the same ones. I wish they weren't white, though. I may paint them black. Oddly enough I found them kind of hidden behind a doggie door display at my Lowes.

If they were unpainted the would be exactly what Chris C was looking for and for $35.

Chris,

I went to an RV repair place here in Lehi and found that they have scads of these 3 pane jalousie windows installed in old campers. Remembering your post, I asked the guy what he wanted for them and he said about $10-$15 each. They certainly have the look you're after but they are a bit weathered. I've got to go down tomorrow because he's got a couple of Hehrs that he'll sell me as well. I'll shoot a couple of pictures just so you (and anybody else who might be interested) can see what they look like. This place has water tanks, whole doors, sinks, all sorts of stuff that might be useful.

Chris and Rick and TS..... all....

I was at Lowe's last night... wish I had known to look!! I'll try to get over there again, looking at a/c too.

I was going to check at some salvage places here in Midwest City to see if they had anything worthy, but really would rather have something in new/very good condition.

Rick! I might want a set of those you have. I'll keep you informed.
Can you tell me the size? ALSO --- I want the same door handles/locks you have but didn't find them on the Austin Hdwe sight. Was that where you got them? HELP!

You might also want to check out places that sell mobile home parts, those windows were commonly used in bathrooms and doors in them.
