Is 67 inches too wide for a Teardrop?

Anything to do with mechanical, construction etc

To dual or not

It stays at 67 inches. At 67in its narrower than my tow vehicle, but a wider track. If I was off road'n with it, than same track would be an issue. Cutting and welding to drop 7 inches seems frugal. I need to cut off about 10 ft off the back to get it where I need it. That will bring it down to about 164 inches. And slide the axle/axles to where I need them. I like the Grummen body style with 4 x 10 sidewall, but using full fenders. I'm still not sure whether to use one or two axles. I like those sexy Hot rod fenders. But dual wheel diamond plate fenders are more useful.

wantaTD,

Your plan sounds great! I made an edit to my post just before your most recent because there were errors in terminology. Sorry, I am so challenged when it comes to remembering the correct trailer light names. I like that I can see the front clearance lamps on the fenders in the rear view mirrors and that confirms to me the trailer lights are working.

PS Trying to get some information on center rear identification lamps and where they might be placed on a TD 80" or more wide. I began a new topic about that as this one is more concentrated on trailer width, although the light requirements are somewhat related. The new topic is called "Rear Identification Lamps, Anyone Using Them?" under construction tips and techniques.

Thanks! Bill

That's the measurement of the width of my floor(that's all I have now is a floor) It'll be a tandem as well, but longer and a grasshopper/weekender hybrid. My shop is under a shade tree, so not much new, but it is getting warmer. 8)
