CPES alternatives?

I don't agree with one coat of cpes. I'd use 2.... because, if you sand the first coat, you will leave some porosity after sanding.... and the first coat will raise the grain. the second coat will be much smoother and require less cpes, and sanding will be minimal.

Two coats of CPES followed by all that epoxy is probably overkilling overkill. My design isn't small either -- I would need several gallons to do more than one coat (one gal might not cut it for the first coat even). I'm not made of money. :lol:

I see no reason to use epoxy.... mine is 2 coats of cpes, 2 coats marine primer, 2 coats marine paint.
