How'd you manage to mount that trash bin on the galley in that second photo?

Essentially it is Tyvek http://www2.dupont.com/Tyvek/en_US/index.html I first saw it used as under water (paper) in the 70's. It would certainly be a way to try a design.
We use a Kelty Car Tarp attached to Kedar rail and it would be no trick to add sides.

Ok, Ok, Ok, get this.....

I'm still not opposed to making my own, however, if something is quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive then why not. Found a "Cabana tent" on ebay that sets up and has the frame work like an EZ UP tent. You know, the accordian style. Depends on who you purchase it from, but the going rate is a little under $70 to your door.

With the metal poles, could be attached to the side of the camper. A simple zipper door in the back like in the front, that way it would be used "free standing" if need be?

Whaddaya think folks?

I tried to find a cheaper source, but the only way to do that was to go TO the source(Mainland China, I know, you get what you pay for), $20-25 each but I had to buy 100 or more
On Amazon, one of the positive feedback comments was from a lady in CA that purchased one to use on her tear drop trailer for a side tent to get dressed in,..... if it works for her?....

Oh ya, I forgot....

The tent in my previous post appears to come in blue as shown, tan, green & white striped, and blue & white striped. :o
9673996740
The dimensions are 4' x 4' x 6'10" (6'10" to the peak, assuming sidewalls are 6'ish)
Hight appears to be adjustable (like an easy up)
Folds down to / carry bag size 46" x 9" x 9"

Anybody use one of these? Comments?

Hello, did you use sail track to attach the canopy to the trailer? If so, what type, and/or how was it bent to the curve of the trailer? Looks, great, thanks for sharing the pics.

i used "open P-profile" from Sapa
and bending was easy and no problems.

Here are a couple pics of the side tent I had made. The upholster on my route made it with marine grade grommets, snaps, and zipper and I made the poles out of emt conduit. The poles are collapsible.

Looks good Larry,
Appears to be quick and simple to put up.

Crunch time's here.
Leaving for out west coming in a few short weeks. Broke down and just ordered one of those "ez up" style cabana tents in tan that I posted previously rather than make my own at this time.
I'll report on the quality and usability of it when it gets here Thursday.

Well, since time was against me I went ahead and purchased the "ez up" style 4' x 4' tent to use as my side trailer. Received it from CA in a resonable amount of time, packaged in it's original box with minumal scuffs & scraps to the package. Thanks again UPS.
When I pulled it out of the box, here's what I had.
Tent right out of the box,...............................................................side curtain,.....
Image Image
.....open in the driveway,................................................................inside framework
Image Image

We set it up against the camper to get ideas on HOW are we gonna attach it, HOW are we gonna get in and out, HOW would be the most practicle, HOW, HOW, HOW,......
Image
I drilled an extra hole up high on the one leg so it would lock in on top of the fender. (more details a comin', I promise)

Anyway, I was up 'til after midnight :goodnight: sewin' on the side curtain, but I'm gonna leave you hangin' there until I get it all assembled and have my final set-up. (got a late start last night, didn't get in from killin' skeeters 'til 11)

MAN, I need a cup 'o coffee this mornin' :coffee:

Should have called me .....

A matching pair of outside shower curtains( the fancy material ones) are ready to go with the ring holes already sewn in. Just cable tie to the frame and you are done

I was thinking for a tiny house design a side tent would be the ideal thing a it would be like an extra eating area and give you a bit more livable space

Anywhere I roam where I lay my head is home....

Marti of Marti Awnings is making a custom side dressing room based on the green an white dressing room noted earlier.

This will match a galley canopy as well.

Pictures in a few weeks.
