Is this wall padded?

Postby Nic » Tue Nov 24, 2009 1:02 am

It looks like the wall is padded to me. Look at the edges they look puffy. Is that vinyl or leather or something?

It's most likely masonite (hard board).

The photo has some depth of field issues with the side lighting and being taken from a low angle. Notice the window frame and the door etc.

Re: Lighting:

Lit at a low angle like that, it is definitely showing some oddities around the window frame top/side and the molding over the blonde's head.

That does look padded...though why would you build a tear that looks like a bloody-great barcalounger? :?

Looks padded to me also, esp. around the fenders. Almost looks like the fender covers are a snap-on type.

Couldn't it be one of the painted canvas one like the runlite?

I wonder if it could be one of those old studio trailers for the stars made out for some one special for an off set shoot. The chairs look like those old studio chairs for actors to set in.....

Looks padded to me. Those old lenses had all kinds of depth of field. The old photo is probably a copy of a copy. I worked on it a little in Photoshop. This is a little better, but not as good as it would be if was not a copy of a copy scanned and copied again.

It's possible that it was covered in an oil cloth, similar to a 36 Ford roof panel, looks like there is some dimension to the side to me. Doug

There were some trailers produced, in the 30's at least, that were covered in leatherette (early vinyl)
