tarp screw up !!! HELP

I put a blue tarp on the tear the other day bad choice :cry: the wind shook the tarp and put dime size scraches on my lid :x
I have a dull alaum finish
any help on getting them out would great

It all depends on how deep the scratches are.

If not deep at all, you can use a heavy duty rubbing compound, then finish up with a regular rubbing compound.

If the scratches are deeper, then you will need to sand them out. Good rule of thumb is to start off with extremely fine grit wet sand paper, the black stuff they use in an autobody shop. Start with 1000 grit and see what it does, and if it isn't touching it, go to 800 or 600 etc. Once you get rid of the scratches, you will need to work your way back up to 1000. Then follow up with a rubbing compound.

I hate to say it, but you'll probably end up compounding the entire trailer in the end, but getting rid of the scratches should be doable.
