little guy doors leaking when towing.

I have the new style doors. While driving during a rainstorm, the windows leak. I'm pretty sure its the window. I'm guessing that air pressure at highway speeds is forcing the water in possibly through the drain hole in the bottom of the window. I found a few other people on the little guy forum are having the same problem. Does anyone here have a similar issue with similar doors or windows.

There was a discussion on here about the issue. The consensus seems to be that the air pressure difference wants to draw water in.

I tried adding another weatherstrip to the door frame, and that seemed to help.



I still get a tiny bit in while driving in HEAVY rains though. I think it gets drawn in through the weep holes at the bottom of the door. I'm thinking about plugging the weep holes with silicone caulk on one door, and comparing the results to the un-plugged door.

If you think it's the weep holes, you could temporarily tape over them with waterproof electrical tape, then remove when setting up in camp. I don't think you'd want to permanently seal them.

I was thinking the same thing with the tape on the holes. I could tape them when it is being towed in the rain and just take it off when not needed.

The doors came completely assembled with all the weather stripping in place. They also came with an extra set of weather stripping. I wonder if I was supposed to take some of it off and replace it right away. They are new doors.

I talked to Joe at the factory and he said there is a few things to check. He gave me his cell number so I can call him when I get home. He also said the extra weather stripping is something they use between the door frame and wall on theirs. The way I did my wall, since its a home built, wont use that weather stripping but it isn't the cause of the leak.

One way to check where a leak is coming from is spray the area with talcum powder, any wetness will show up. One alternative is to use a dry powder deodorant.

One question, do you have a vent fitted? If so, does the vent allow for air movement, even when closed? I know, that's two questions
I'm figuring it will be the Benoulli effect coming into play. High pressure, low pressure causing a vacuum effect and sucking the water in. Put a vent somewhere that allows the air to move freely rather than sucking in thru your door area.

I finally got around to sealing the edges on the face of the door as the Little Guy factory suggests. Seal the edges all the way around on the outside and about half way up on the inside. I'm taking it out this weekend to go camping and its supposed to rain. Ill see if this does the trick.

Check to make sure the wall has not separated from the floor below the door. That's what happened to my Little Guy.

Electonicx, did sealing the edges of your doors fix the problem you where having? I'm having the same leaking problem you are. If it fixed it could you post some more up close pictures so I can see how you tackled the problem And where you got your seals at. Thanks
