Next on the list are underfloor storage boxes and a floor. Then it is on to wheel wells.

Hey, I'm not saying you HAVE to do it, but have you considered adding a wooden cross member to the center of the chassis?

A lot of us that used the Cubby plans modified it this way.

I was considering the center cross-member, but since I am attaching a deck built with 2X4s and 1/2 plywood. I am thinking it will be fine the way it is. The deck will be bolted on using at least 8 3/8 Carriage bolts. I wanted to leave the center open a little anyway. It allows me to have larger, more useful storage space under the floor.

I have been thinking this all out for Months!

Hey Gratis good job!
Just wandering , since the 2x4 are not protected are ya going to seal them some how? I used treated 2x4 on my frame because I did not wabt them to rot out down the years. Just a thought, any body else see an issue ?

I am going to undercoat the whole thing with the asphalt roof coating. Should work good enough for quite some time. I am also planning on using some flashing material in the wheel well areas to avoid stones and such chipping off the coating.

3 more pictures! I ended up burning out the trusty old Saber Saw though. It was older then me and put up a good fight. It's hard to get rid of one of those old metal case saws but the smoke was let out and cannot be put back in.

I think my floor will be strong enough!

I like how you incorporated the factory fenders to protect the underside of the floor. Keeping it simple.

Looking good!
