Floor Frame

My trailer frame is 2x2x1/8" angle. I'm left with a required floor frame member size of 1 7/8" x 2 1/8". See this pdf to see what I mean.

What's the best way to acheive this size? A lot probably depends on what is available locally, but I'd like to at least have an idea of how I should approach it. Would you laminate a couple of thicknesses or start with an over sized piece and rip it down?

laminating would probably be less expensive, but i guess it depends on what your gonna attatch to it...

I would get 2x6' and cut my framing from it. Remember to cut 2 1/8 wide and use the existing 1 3/4 the other way. Does this mean you are not building a box (top, bottom, inside framing/ insulation)?

I thought a 2x6 was 1.5" thick.

edit: I'm not making a sandwich floor. I'll have cross members to help stiffen the floor and will let my mattress be my insulation. When I camp I usually go to bed with enough Rye coursing thru my blood that it keeps me warm all night

Roasted, you will probably have to laminate something up to get that size unless you have access to a lumber mill and get a larger piece and rip it down....
