Yes, I like their poptop with front fold out bed model. There trailers look nice if you do a lot of off-road driving.

Being (seemingly) the only person from South Africa, I think I should reply to this thread.

Believe it or not, but I visited Echo last week to look at their Kavango caravan (trailer). It is made entirely out of fiberglass, and is as solid as a rock. It should be if you consider the weight (1050kg or 2310 pounds)! All in all I think it is an excellent off road caravan, but it comes at a steep price of about the equivalent of US $ 22000.

It's main rival is the Jurgens Explorer. This trailer can be seen at http://www.jurgenssafari.co.za/xplorer.htm and is made using aluminum sides. The manufacturing process is therefore similar to many teardrops.

Barrie, I like the idea of a hardside trailer with foldouts like the Image TrailVan and the Jurgens Oryx.

Being in South Africa have you seen in person the MyWay Rooftop Tents and Off-raod trailers?

No, I haven't seen this particular tent, but have seen many similar to them. They are fairly common here.

Seeing that you are interested in tents, and specifically those that fold out like the MyWay, you might be interested in this:

It is basically a trailer/foldout tent combination. Very easy to set up, and I think it is fairly easy to build!! I have seen one of these up close, and you'll be amazed at how much space it has. It only measures 10 feet by about 6 1/2 feet, but still it is quite roomy! I personally think the website does not do justice to this nifty little trailer.

Barrie, thanks for the link to Skipper Tent Trailers, I like their Model T trailer.

Here is a Tent design I've been working on. It's the reverse of the Model T, the sleeping area stays in place on top of the trailer and the sitting / changing area folds out.
