Things that don't fit anywhere else...

My dad is a very stoic man. I only saw him tear up twice in my lifetime. When my mom died and when he had kidney stones. That's gotta be way up there on the pain scale. My wife's had 'em twice. Drugs and Lithotripsy is what took care of it for her.

The pain they say is not quite as bad as having a baby but I have two lady friends who beg to differ they say it is worse.

I have had 3 and have to drink or eat lemon juice for the rest of my life.
One thing to help clean out the system is Watermelon
oxalate is the problem.
this tells the amounts

lists showing foods low to hight on oxalates pdf's

Make sure you drink more water then you usually would
and according to my Dr. imitation or real lemon flavors work.
I add lemon powder to my bottle water I use at work for brakes.

So once you have changed your diet you can have more of the things you like less often. I liked tea, hot chocolate, tangerines, orange marmalade, carrots.
now the main veg's I like my wife has to boil. The skin of most fruits is full of it.

So now I am having fun with Lemon juice things, Lemon meringue pie, Lemon bars, Lemon juice of all kinds Lemon aids (no Tea), Lemon cookies, I just drank fresh squeezed lemon juice today.

I had em once. That was more than enough for me.

I thought i had a decent tolerance for pain until that point. Only thing I've found comparable was an abscess tooth.

this was my first full week where I have been able to get out of the house.
I am on a regiment of "potassium Citrate" been on it for years Dr. said I could
take teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking powder) a day or take the pills.
I haven't tried lemonade I like it that may be the way to go.
Gage thanks for feeling sorry for me that means a lot...............yea right I don't think you were sincere, but everyone loves a grouch :D
I'm back and I'm ready to go.

Glad to hear from you, Pete. My sister's Dr told her to start drinking as strong of lemonade as she could stand. Plus she finally started drinking more water every day. Knock on wood....no more episodes for her in a year or so.

You take care, OK?

Well think what you might Pete, but I’m glad you’re doing better. I mean to tell you, being the only grouch active is hard.
