Seeking advice from the older and wiser.
Back in late may, I accepted a position with a local furniture company as a crate builder, worked 3 days and over the following weekend my grandfather passed away and I had to miss 2 days following the memorial day holiday to deal with the funeral and family issues.
I had called in that Tuesday morning, only to receive the voice mail of both owners when I called. After a few tries I decided to leave a message letting them know I had a death in the family and wouldn't be in until thursday of that week.
Long story short, that Thursday morning I didn't have a job anymore, as "We had been quite busy and the extra help wasn't needed".
Now, as if that wasn't discouraging enough, I've never recieved any paycheck, nor any call asking for me to come and pickup a check or any compensation for my work.
Mind you this is only 25.5hrs at $10/hr so $255 minus taxes and etc.
So, my question is, is it even worth pursuing it for such a small amount of money?
