What ever happened to sealed in plastic glasses? Years ago they came sealed so you would know if they were clean or at least think it.

If I stay at a place with real glasses and coffee cups (as opposed to plastic & styrofoam) I'll clean the glasses myself from now on, but it's hardly worth worrying about since I've never gotten sick after a hotel/motel stay. However gross it may seem, the fact is that letting the glass simply dry will kill most if not all bacteria on it - they can't survive without moisture. And hosing them down with Windex as one maid did is probably better for cleaning them than regular washing.
You take in far more bacteria simply by visiting someone in the hospital. Even more if you have to stay there for a night or two.
