Cabinet Hardware Source help (sorry its long)

Postby Geron » Tue Dec 15, 2009 9:37 am

Another Project taking me away from PlayMor II TTT rebuild
Question, Where do I find the hardware???
Lemme see if I can make myself clear
I'm attempting to build wall mounted vertical pull out pantry shelving

Here's the wall:
Image

Here's the Cabinet Frame (will put a 1/4 inch back on it): The Cabinet is 28" deep
Image

The crown moulding will be cut out and the frame screwed to the ceiling joists and back wall studs.

The Idea here is to utilize the space (via step stool) all the way to the ceiling. Therefore pull out pantry shelving (prolly about 6 pullouts)
Here's the Idea: Only they won't be floor length. Just Wall Pantry above the counter top.
Image

The only thing I've found that will work is 28" full extension drawer slides (100 lb rating which is adequate) which I plan to mount on the top of the pull out rather than the bottom (more stable hanging than riding).
Now the question:

Is anyone aware of and can source a hardware item made specifically for pull out pantry shelving?????
If it's not broken, you're not trying hard enough.

Thanks Al, Rockler has them. None are 28" in length. Prices are from $100 to 350$ per set. Outa my price range if I use 6 sets.
Guess I'll have to resort to my "signature" line.

That's an awful good price. Haven't found then for less than $15 per set.
Many thanks. Think I'll investigate his "store."

Although I have never built anything like it before, I built a similar pull-out for my tear. Granted it is much smaller than what you plan but I used some standard drawer glides from Lowes and mounted them in the middle.

I was wondering why the water balloon was getting bigger... and then it hit me.

That's what I'll have to do only I'll have to top mount mine because I don't plan to have dividers between the pull outs to middle mount the drawer slide on. Also, I'll have "wasted" space at the top where I have to come down below the Crown Moulding. That space can be used for the slides/mounts - If I'm figurin' right

Ya'll are helpin' a lot . . Thanks
