You know, this entire thread would be non-existent if you were running Linux instead of Microsloth Windoze.

If I start the day with 65GB of free disk space and I personally add no files, then I end the day with 65GB of free disk space. What a concept!

:)

This is an older post, but it might be pertinent given that you seem to "do" a lot of email:
Compacting messages in Outlook Express.

A few more hints here.

If you already allow Outlook to compact its folders when it asks, then nevermind.

Yes, I do allow it. But now I know that eventually they are removed from the computer.

Thanks. Even you Mike B.

But she is not - so how does that help her problem?

Personal note: I'm so tired of Linux and Mac comments that don't help the problem - yeah - that's it - change your OS and problem solved. Linux has Issues, Mac has issues, Windows has issues -

Sorry Rebapuck to hijack your thread - I hope the posts about windows OS have been helpful. I have been reading along too just in case - And I've learned something too. ;)

By default Outlook may not actually empty the deleted mail folder. There is a check box under tools/other that you need to check. Although mail takes very little space.

You can also look at your swap file size.
