xxl grommets

Postby droid_ca » Sun Oct 28, 2012 9:55 am

I'm looking for a source to order the 4 inch grommets that are commonly used on interior curtains... I have no clue where to start looking

Thanks ....

Don't know exactly what you need them for, but you could split rubber hose and use it as a grommet.

I would like to use them for exterior curtains for a potty room outside my trailer

Look for shower curtains hooks or better still just sew Loops on the top of the curtain and slide the rod through them. You can make the loops any size.

Four inch inside diameter???

Why so big?

Could you cut rings from 4" PVC tubing in small slices that would fit through the largest grommet you can find to attach to the curtain? Split the PVC, slip it through the grommet and reglue the PVC into a ring.

Large grommets might be available at a fabric store, like JoAnne's, or upholstery shop. JoAnne's might be cheaper.
You could also sew big buttonholes in the top hem and slip the rod through them. Just make it an odd number so it folds evenly.
