just went for a walk out to the hallway. feels like a dead fish. brought my pda so i can have some limited internet. no twinkies hohos or ding dongs in sight. i am sure this euphoria will end when the nerve block wears off. viva lorat@b

Awesome news! Up and about in 24 hours is the key to recovery! Now the work and healng begin. KEEP YOUR KNEE AS STARIGHT AS POSSIBLE WHILE IN BED (While out of the bending cantraption/machine). DO NOT PUT A PILLOW UNDER IT! YOU WILL PAY DEARLY LATER!!! (Trust me...I didn't listen)

I look forward to one day comparing scars and Teardrops!

otto did pillows under knee out of habit messed me up, so just have pain back of knee without support. do i just tough it out? walking still a challenge using a walker and the kids, family and neighborhood been great. no infection and changing dressing daily. bending more while laying down and hurting. manly men do not read the following. while checking out of hospital the nurse banged my new knee; hurt like he££ and i cried for 30 minutes, it was really the first emotional release i have had from Lisa to the hip and too the knee. also found to be vitamin D deficitant and has been the cause of all this, who knew? well here is hoping for some advice and getting back to the garage soon. thank you all. Good advice? Take your pain meds round the clock, better to take one every 4 hours than 2 every 8. Ice is your friend. it helps dull the senses. make sure you use your walker/ crutches when getting up, no need to be brave- I have seen knees give out and people fall as much as a week out. walking is good-just don't over do it. taking a shower will help you feel more human.

be careful not to get constipated-easily happens.
drink lots of fluids

thanks for reminding me about the vitamin D!

Hope you are feeling better soon! If the pain is too bad, you can always call your doc on Monday and try to get more pain meds.
