Are you thinking of the Tri-Magnum? http://blog.modernmechanix.com/the-mi-urbasport-tri-magnum-home-built-excitement/ I have a full set of plans for this somewhere. It was pretty tempting to build one. However, as designed, it lacks heat, air conditioning (or even decent ventilation) or a reverse gear. So, lotsa fun but not too practical.
