Okay, I'm verry dissapointed. I went to test today, see if any inprovement has occured.
I never tested running/ walking when I started exercising, but I was able to walk from my home to my job and back in about 45 mins. According to the odometer in my car this as 2.3 miles, my Dakota, (which I believe has non stock size tires) says it's 2.5 miles, so about 22.5 min miles. Today I'm testing on an official track, I'm on my last lap, and I see that, running and walking, I'm at 35 mins, and not even finnished with the mile!
Got so disgusted I (a) left the track without finnishing (b) double checked the mileage to work and back with the car's odometer.
According to my math it takes 8 laps around a 220 yd track to make a mile, right?
And cardio should IMPROVE my time, right? what happened?
At least I did see increase in my strenth work, I doubled supine pullups and nearly doubled pushups from my initial test. (all other exercises key off these two, so that's a similar increase in all exercises)
Next week I step up to two sets, although at less than max reps, so I'm happy with that, but other than the fact that my eliptical seems to be helping correct my tendacy to overstride, how did I go from 22.5 min mile four weeks ago to over 35 min mile tonight?
