well the crew arrived this morning @ 8am and started attacking the floors. I would say based on their effort the floors should be all scraped and the first coat of poly should be down before 1pm today. They are flying..............

Outside of that the day is going well and the the young one is coming home for the weekend. Seems his 22nd birthday is this weekend and he plans to make it home before school starts for a visit and some "Home-Cook'n". will be nice to see him and I know his Mom can't wait.

Anyway - the weather here in your Nation's Capital - is holding it's own and the sun is out - rain should hit us later this week and the temps will be in the 40F+ for the rest of the week. I have to remind myself this is January - going on to Feb and the temps are in the 40F to 50F+ - this is strange brew..............

Well - enjoy yourself and have on hell of a day.

I got 3.69 inches of rain at the doghouse since this time yesterday. :applause:

Lake Lavon, where my city gets its water, was 12-feet low yesterday, and 10-feet low today. :applause:

We still need a lot of rain before the normal dry summer, but January has given us six inches. That's very unusual for January here. :applause:

We used to have two lakes to draw from, but one is infested with zebra muscles, which destroy water transport and treatment systems. So, that lake is shut down, which means we need a full Lake Lavon by mid June, because we normally get very little rain from then until October. Even full, we will have water restrictions, but only level one or two, at worst.

Almost all of our lakes in North Texas are man-made reservoirs. That's where we get almost all our water.

We may get a little more tonight, but it should be less than an inch.

8) Good morning from HOt Orlando.
Yes, it is reaching into the low 80s recently. That will include today. Tomorrow they say that we might get some desperately needed rain, although it will more likely just be coastal rain.

Getting a couple of days of work at WDW so have a great day where you are!

Post Morning to you all

The sun ain't shinning - we are going to get CD rains tonight. It's in the 40F+ and it is basically not a pleasant day to be in your Nation's Capital.

The crew is putting the 2nd coat of three on the floors and should be done shortly. The 19yo cat we had to boarder at the vets during this work. Way too much noise - and the poor thing is blind and just walks around in circles. And with the sanding machines etc. the poor thing would probably have a heart attack. The other cat - "SHADOW" is about 8yo and we decided he could stay at home during this project. Well - the poor thing is going NUTZ. Confined to the basement he is going a little stir crazy and when I got home yesterday he was barking at me for leaving him in the basement - ts was a site to see and hear! Funny - the poor thing :)

One more day and we be done.

So that sums it UP for now!

Enjoy

Today, Lavon is 8 feet low.

The rainwater is making it's way to the lake, and the Corps of Engineers is not releasing any water.

OMG - it is raining like something I have not seen in years. Truly pouring out of the sky in buckets. Buckets of water falling out of the sky uncontrolled. On my drive to work I almost got wiped out by a Mercedes SUV - who decided that I didn't exsit and he wanted to be in my place. I was glad that my horn worked.............

They (the evil ones) tell us that the rain will stop by noon and our temps will be in the 60F+ - HEY this January - going on February and we should be in the 30F not the 60F. What is going to happen to us? Is this the "END OF DAYS"?

8) Good Morning again...

We did get some rain this morning that we neede4d so badly! I was only enough to knock down some of the pollen for those with allergies but not enough to do any real good.

Maybe next week...hopefully.
