Dad had an '83 Ranger, I had a '95 for ten years. Great trucks, very solidly built...at least in those days. I don't particularly care for much of Toyota's styling, but that's a matter of personal taste. I've owned three Toyota cars and they were great.

I have a 95 extend cab 4x4 ranger with 150,000 miles on it. I've put 40 thousand miles on it in the past three years and done nothing mechanical to it, just change the oil. Very reliable, just a little small to suit may taste. I really like it other than the lack of space.

I've got a 91 Ford Ranger and I was just bragging today I'm 135 miles away from 200,000 miles and still running strong. The rust is starting to make it look like it's got leprosy but hay as long as it gets me to and from work and halls my wood I'll keep it. Bought it with 14 miles on it, It's been through a lot. So as far as the Ford Ranger  Scott

I bought a 95 Ranger with 46,000 miles in 1998, it was a 4 cyl 5spd. Great little truck, drove it until 2005, had 99,000 miles when I sold it. I bought a new 2005 Ranger in July 05. 4.0 V-6 with 5spd, so far it's been a great truck. It's just shy of 7,000 miles.

I have a 94 Mazda B2300 which is basically a Ranger, it has over 200K on it and I still use it as my daily driver. I've replaced the fuel tank, a/c compressor, power steering pump, cat converter, front wheel bearings, and fan clutch. Everything else is just regular maint.

I regularly get mid 24 MPG. If there is one thing I hate about the truck, it is so friggin slow! The newer 4-cyl have more hp but you can't get a 4-cyl in an extended cab. The 3.0L is a waste because it gets worse milage than the 4 but isn't much more powerful.

I have a 2000 Tundra and love it. Rides like a car and pulls my tear or my trailer with no problem. Apx 15 mpg city, 17 highway. Tear drops it by 1-2 mpg. Trailer is something else. Apx 12 mpg at 60mph, 10 mpg above that on my cross country trip, LA - NJ and back with the trailer. I have the old four door model which is fine. The newer one offers a full sized back seat which I do not have. Great truck

I put 235,000 miles on an 89 Ranger 4 cyl. 5 speed... Sold it to a friend's son who still has it... smokes a little but still runs well. I bought a 95 Nissan PU, 4 cyl. 5 speed I still have with 115,000 on it... Still runs like new and nothing has gone wrong with it other than normal tires, brakes, etc. Amazing little truck. I also have a 93 Chevy S-10 Blazer with 209,000 miles that is still going strong too. I am about to sell the Blazer though.

My dad had a 1987 ranger 4 cyl extended cab 2 weel drive. My dad gave it to my older brother in 1988 then my older brother gave it to my younger brother in 1994 and he put that thing thru heck. Both brothers purchased rangers after that truck. Exept for the crappy firestone tires those were great trucks.

I had a company truck in '96, a '96 Ranger extended cab, 4 WD, V6 automatic, and althought I didn't have any trouble with it, I hated that truck. Used to do a lot of driving in West Texas and if the wind was blowing at all, it would not run 70 miles per hour in overdrive by itself. Hate to think of what it would have been like pulling even a teardrop. Consequently, it got horrible gas mileage. I didn't drive the truck long...changed jobs, but it turned me off to Found On Road Deads ever since. (This was my experience, but your mileage may vary.)

We had a 2000 Tundra 4x4 and can't speak highly enough of it. Bought it new and was in an accident in 2003 and was T Boned on the passenger side by someone going 45 to 50 mph. Truck held up to the impact remarkably. It is a truly well built truck. Rode like a car.....It was totaled in the accident but I am still hear to talk about it. That says alot.....Can't go wrong with Toyota in my opinion.... Patty
