It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.

Don't remind me, :( it was just after I was drafted into the Marine Corps. I'd rather celebrate tomorrow, Veterans day, the day for all service personnel that have guaranteed our freedoms  . I have a shirt somewhere that says "America Is Free Because Of Our Veterans" Just my take on it, :D Danny

I love all the branches, but once a Marine always a Marine!!!

Semper Fi

Postby eamarquardt » Sat Nov 10, 2007 10:16 pm

Semper Fi to all.

As long as we're on the subject, I went down to Camp Pendleton a couple of months back and had a small get together with some platoon mates from TBS (if you have to ask what TBS is you're not a Marine that's been there as it's an experience you never forget, ha). Only one of us left on active duty and he was wearing two stars! A good time was had by all and we even got a free bottle of wine to take home from the Ranch House at Camp Pendleton.

Cheers,

Gus
The opinions in this post are my own. My comments are directed to those that might like an alternative approach to those already espoused. There is the right way,the wrong way,the USMC way, your way, my way, and the highway.

Wow...29 Palms brings back memories...wasn't stationed there, but hung out a lot. I got bit by a big goofy lizards there....they may look like they want you to pick them up, but it is just trick!

I was a 0331...50 cal Heavy Machine Gun with 3/1 WPNS Co. out of Camp Horno on Camp Pendleton...taught at Division School on and off also.(I kept my California drivers license as a souvenir...just kind of thought it was cool to have 50 cal Heavy Machine Gun Plt as part of my address and got me out of a couple speeding tickets  ...later it was just Heavy Machine Gun Plt, because the MK19 came out)

Happy Veterans Day!!!!

Cold war submarine sailor for me.... have some interesting stories, but no one cares about those anymore. We Americans have been sold out by our politicians who only care about their power/re election/cash.... sorry to all who who don't see things as I do.

I care...I always like a good interesting story!

You make it sound like being sold out by politicians is a recent issue...it has been the case as long as I can remember. Podunkfla posted something awhile back that hit it right on the nose... unfortunitely I can't find it right now.

Not sure how the USMC B-Day turned to politics!
