I have been riding for about 25 years. I started when I was a kid. My cousin and I would find old street bikes and turn them into dirt bikes. Old street bikes are much cheaper and with a few mods work very well. My favorite at the time was a mid 70s 250 Kaw. When I got it the tires were dry rotted and it wouldn’t start. Well I cleaned the carburetor, put on some knobby tires, took everything off the bike that didn’t make it go or stop and found a smaller rear sprocket for it. I bought a replacement set of plastic dirt bike fenders and I had me a trail bike. I loved it and we built a few of these. I wish I had pictures of it now.
So then as an adult I started rebuilding street bikes to ride. Being in the Army I never could afford much, but I always had something to ride. I have had Harleys, Hondas, Kaws and Suzukis. I build the wrecked or neglected bikes to fit my personality.
I ride in the rain and in the snow. My cut off is around 25 degrees, any colder than that and the wind chill gets to my old bones. I have many biker friends and I am at home in the roughest biker bars you can think of. I have ridden with the Banditos and the Pagans although I belong to no club.
This first picture is the last bike I built, I sold it before I deployed. And the other is the one I am working on now. Can anyone make out what it is?
well... photo bucket isn't working for me. I'll have to bring in the pictures from my personal computer tomorrow... I'll post them then.
