You might try to negotiate your last year. There are times and contracts where if it looks like an older employee is being bumped this can be an issue to keep both the job and the retirement.

I don't like unions and I won't take a union job. I prefer the idea of advancement based on merit rather than seniority. in my trade that would mean I'd have to stick with the same company to get the seniority too and if I had done that I wouldn't have a quarter of the skills I do now. some people like the idea of security but in reality, the skills I've gained give me more security than seniority would.bc toys wrote:being union dont helpi'v been off 2 months now and nv is going to cut 2300 teachers jobs but you don't hear them goverment pep say let me take a cut in my pay to save $$$$
