Any one else gonna watch the race? go 24 It's a new surface this year and speeds are really fast. go 24 The 2 car hook up thing might be altered with the cooling adjustments they made so they can't hook up as long. go 24 Should be a good one! go 24. I just hope that it quits snowing so I don't have to go out and brush off the snow on the dish so I can get it. go 24. Who are you rooting for? go 24. Sorry Jr.... Doug

 After watching the duels today. The new cooling adjustments handed down by NASCAR didn't change a thing. And me, I'm rooting for the old man (as he calls himself) in the #15 car.

I love NASCAR! Been waiting for the start of the season all winter!

I missed out on going to Daytona with a friend of mine by only a couple hours. He goes there every year and has 2 tickets, etc and his wife does not go anymore so he always gets someone else to go. Well I had sent him a text message about this year (last week) and he said that he just gave the tickets to another friend of his about an hour before that. But he says that I am on the top of his list for next year!!!

I've always been a go "24" fan too. I think his boy "48" stole the wind out of his sail though.

Let's see.

Cindi's father and all three of her brothers raced stock cars on the fairgrounds in Nashville. Her dad even raced at Daytona when it was half on the beach and half on the highway. And Cindi got me a Richard Petty experience for my 40th birthday. I got to race 150 mph at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

So yes, we will be watching. :)

Any time you get to spend time with a pretty girl, wear a racing suit and drive a car waaaaaaay too fast, you know you're having a good weekend.

Oh, yes...Duke and I are major NASCAR fans. We actually met through a NASCAR message board about ten years ago. :) I renewed my tickets every year at NHIS for the Cup race in September until this past year, when I came to grips with the fact that I live a little too far away now to make that practical. But, we're lucky that we're close enough to tracks now that we can make a day trip to a few of them and catch a race when the fever hits.

Duke was a fan of Sr., and still roots for RCR. Harvick and Burton are his favorites nowadays. Also likes Jr., though. Duke comes down with a fever and stays home from work every year on the day they run the Twins. Damndest thing.

I am a Bobby Labonte fan first and foremost, but Burton and Harvick are my other favorites (good thing, eh?) I cling to the hope, however delusional, that ol' Bob's got one more win left in him. And I get a huge kick out of seeing Terry's name in a starting lineup...love big brother, too. David Green is another driver I love to see kicking around the garage.

We love racing, love to root for our favorites and against yours, and just appreciate what they do and marvel at their talent. And if you haven't been to a NASCAR race in person...well, you're missing a lot. It'll blow you away...literally, if you stand as close to the catchfence as the guards will let you when the boys come screaming down the front. The noise and the vibration will let you know you're alive.

NASCAR fan, here. It's those Tennessee roots. I believe I wear the only "Budweiser Shootout" cap in Utah. Makes a statement in a couple of ways-kinda nice.

I had to google who #24 was, so I guess I"m not a fan..

But I do enjoy watching a race of two if I happen across it while surfing the channels.

I'm not really a fan of any sport but will watch football or hockey if a NJ or NY team is playing. I have no use for baseball or basketball, and golf is great for napping.

I have watched for years and enjoy it. A few years ago a friend of mine was a driver for the CLR car in the Arca series. They were the lead race before the opening race in Charlotte. So we watched from the pits and got to within arms reach of all the drivers as they introduced them. Then the race began and OH MY GOD were they flying. It just never came through how fast they were moving when watching it on TV. Those guys are crazy. Someday I will hit another race.
