Welding thingy help

Postby 4123 » Fri Feb 25, 2011 12:21 am

This is to all you welders out there. I've got an old Forney welder from the 50s. This is a piece/part that came with it. Can someone tell me what the heck it is? Thanks, Ron

Ron, that's one of the arc welder cutting doohickies that used to be all the go. They where going to replace oxy cutting apparently. Sorry for such a technical description  I couldn't help myself.
Cheers
Paul

You can also use them to weld with - but you'll need a filler rod

wow looks different than my carbon arc torch! which by the way work very well for certain applications like back goudging, cutting out bad welds or cutting something apart that you do not want to destroy... takes a little skill but our shop wouldnt function without them....
