So what kind of hinges are the wrong ones? Maybe one of us can use them and get you some of your money back.

I got 3" wide (open width) stainless steel narrow clearance piano hinges. They came without holes. My plan was to install them with both flanges inside the door with only the hinge pins exposed.
In order for the door to close properly, I needed to drill and counter sink the screw holes. For some reason, I had it in my head that I'd bought an aluminum hinge and would have no problem doing this. Well, I managed to cut them both to 32 1/8 inches long. Next, I tried to drill the screw holes using a drill press. I drilled a couple of holes before the bit started over heating. I tried another brand new bit and lubricated it with plenty of oil. No go. I figured that If I coudn't drill a 1/8" hole, there was no way I'd be able to countersink them.
Soooo..... after going back up stairs and checking my reciept, I realized that I'd bought stainless steel hinges. No friggin wonder I couldn't drill through it.
I just ordered 2 inch wide pre-drilled and pre-countersunk stainless steel hinges. My new plan is to mount them on the outside of both the door and trailer body.
BTW -- I looked into Grant's offset hinges. Unfortuantely, my walls and doors are too thick for them.
