Charlize Theron didn't look too happy. However the dress in the video is not the dress she wore last night. So, is the whole video for real?

I can think of better themes for the production.

Yes, it was genius. The style and presentation of the song was very 1945, but the subject matter was...well...NOT 1945. The disconnect between the singing style, and the subject matter was part of the joke. The William Shatner cameo lead in was the rest, but the youtube video didn't have it. As for the reaction shots, those were prefilmed and the actresses were in on the joke. The missing part on the youtube video was the lead in where Captain Kirk comes back in time to tell Seth McFarlane that he had ruined the Oscars, and this song was the cited reason. Laurie and I both LOVE Seth McFarlane's sense of humor.

LOVE his work .... tuned in mid-way for the Oscars and could NOT continue to watch him. HE WOULD NOT STAND STILL, but kept shifting left and right. Something that a nervous person would do (after all it is LIVE TV and maybe millions are watching ... I'd be nervous)
