Propane Generator

Postby Elumia » Tue Mar 13, 2007 11:02 pm

I haven't seen anyone broach this subject, but it makes sense to me. If you're going thru the trouble of bringing a generator, I suspect that you might have a propane canister - or it would give reason for carrying a bigger one. I'm not a fan of transporting gasoline either. Has anyone considered a propane powered generator? The only one I can find seems spendy though.

...spendy is an understatement $> $> $> $> ...I am not planning on a gennie unit but for that price I could get a 2600watt Kipor and a LOTTA gasoline and have something that would actually power a coffee maker instead of just making it mad...

I'm not a fan of transporting gasoline in the TV or tear. Even when sealed up, you will smell it. When I was looking for a genset, I found something about a conversion kit for the Hondas, but I'm not shure if it was for the small generators.

According to the stats listed on that page, a 20lb grill tank will run that generator for 85hrs, a 1 pound can should run a little over 4 hours. 4 hours should be enough to chagre batteries.

$>
I'll just strap a gas can on the tongue of my tear.
