I am happy to report that I got the Draw tite 18379 it works for 1989-95 toyota pickups and 1995-2004 Toyota Tacoma pickups
it came with a simple plug I removed the tailights with 4 screws each unpluged the intire light unit for each side.
It came with plugs that went between the truck wire plug and the light unit plug.
puged them in checked the lights still worked. used a trailer plug checker and it works too. now all I have to do is ground it.

I've had a 'converter' (powered or unpowered depends on your point of view, because it receives 'power' when the turn signals are on and it puts that 'power' onto the brake lights of the trailer) and it works just fine on 3 or 4 different trailers I regularly pull - Much simpler than adding lights and rewiring 3 or 4 different trailers
