The state campgrounds in Georgia have both 15A and 30A outlets. A regular heavy duty extension cord would work with the 15A outlets. I use a 30A RV cord to my trailer electrical compartment 30A power inlet and have an adaptor, 30A female to 15A male, so I can plug the cord in at home. If you use a 15A extension cord and need to plug into a campground 30A outlet, then you would need an adapter that is 30A male to 15A female, just the opposite of the one I have.
A 30A female side on the adapter was mentioned in an earlier post in this topic, but I believe if you are using a 15A extension cord the adapter 30A side would have to be male to plug into a 30A campground outlet. And female on the 15A side into which to plug in the extension cord. It depends on whether a 15A or 30A cord is used. I think this is correct. It can be confusing and I am easily confused.

PS The adapters are usually listed as 30A to 15A, but outlet might be rated for 20A if it is heavy duty. The 15A/20A campground outlet is configured the same in either case for a three prong plug. Just be sure the 15A side of the adapter can accept a 3-prong plug as a heavy duty extension cord will have that.
