Need a simple Breaker for my Shore Power

Postby Jerry Bleeg » Mon Feb 08, 2010 5:19 pm

I have my 12volt wiring and fuse panel in place along with a simple 30 amp Littel fuse breaker in line on the Positive side of my battery that will trip if the 12volt side of things get to hot (one of those small rectangular jobs with two posts for wires).

My question is on the 120 volt side. I have a Shore power plug and a GFCI outlet that powers the other two 120 plugs down line. I would like to have put some kind of breaker or fuse between my shore power and the GFCI plug. I don't want to put in a big gray box like a home wiring add-on box. I would rather have a breaker or trip switch similar to a Power strip trip button. My 120 volt usage will be mostly to power my Battery Tender. I usually don't have Shore power where I camp and my 120 volt requirements are minimal.

Do they make real simple trip switch circuit breaker l could wire between the shore power and the GFCI? I mean, they are on all the Power strips out there.

AC circuit breaker

Thanks Ageless, but all I really want of the power strip is the circuit breaker. I already have my duplex box mounted with the GFCI, and I have the Marinco shore power plug in on the side of the trailer.

Would something like this work if I mount it inline of my incoming black(hot) AC wire.

I would mount it inside my front cabinet and it would be between my Marinco shore power plug and the GFCI duplex box.

Coop and Wannabe, I like both of those ideas. In the end, I think this one I found on ebay is the way I will go. Looks like it will be easy to mount into a handy box, and I like the screw lugs.
