Little Guy Electrical Problem

Postby DLT » Tue Aug 31, 2010 9:30 am

My electrical outlets are not operating at all. I checked all fuses, and they appear okay. All other electric features, such as fan and lights, work perfectly. Any suggestions?

Also, I thought I was getting a deep-cycle marine battery as part of the power package...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

DLT,

The trailer must be plugged into a 110vac source for the outlets to work. If they still don't work, contact Little Guy.

Little Guy changed the battery that comes with the power package. It's a very recent change and a small, 35ah battery has taken the place of the deep cycle. The new battery is hidden inside, hatch at the foot of the bed.

Little Guy has said they will change the new system out for the old style battery at customer request. Once again, contact them.

Thanks, Bob, for the info. I didn't realize that the trailer had to be plugged in for the outlets to work.

As to the battery, I'm wondering if it charges while driving, and how it rates in comparison to the marine battery for length of charge.

As to charging while driving, see the post after this one. You have to add a circuit to your tow vehicle's 7-pin connector to provide 12vdc for charging while driving.

Your battery is less than half as big as the previous deep cycle (35ah vs 72ah.)

I e-mailed Little Guy yesterday asking for a comparison of the new battery versus the old one. I think they may be getting a lot of inquiries about the new battery, as they have produced a new video on Youtube explaining that they will furnish either battery setup based on customer preference. I'm a bit miffed, as I understood I was buying the marine battery. I'm in Nevada, so having the factory install a marine battery is impossible. Ach!

I'm sorry to say that I've received no reply from Little Guy after almost two weeks. I was eager to hear their comparison of the new battery versus the old one. At time of purchase, I was lead to believe that my battery would be a deep cycle marine battery.

Other than that, this trailer is super!
