dxf drawing of a HF 90154 1195lb 4x8 trailer

Postby d_lairson » Thu Feb 18, 2010 4:02 pm

Does anyone have a dxf drawing of the harbor Freight 90154 1195lb trailer. I saw that it is on sale at HF, plus if I could use a 20% off coupon on top of that it puts it squarly in my price range at present. I'm building a 5' wide and wondering how high over the top of the frame the tires stick up, I basically am trying to see the impact of the wheels on the sleeping area.

Thanks

Mike,

That does help some. My real question is the height of the tire over the top of the frame... I would be moving the tire back to get proper placement I'm just trying to figure out the intrusion into the cabin. I may just have to break down and go to the store, they have a pretty good deal on saw horses and I need to pick up a couple anyway.

Thanks!

Hmmm...

How tall is that tire? I don't have one to measure... Who can tell me the diameter of a HF 12" tire?

I would say 2 5/8" based on Scott's information.

Does anyone have an idea of how much movement (up and down) that there might be on a set up like this?

Ok I can answer this one......

From the spring perch I have a 2" frame (junked the bent HF frame)
I laid down 3/4 floor and cut around the tire I built a 1 1/2 wheel well and topped it with 3/4 and it clears the 12" tire. I unfortunatly left the stock fender under the wheel well to "protect the floor " and a bolt cut the tire IN HALF. SO 2" frame plus 3/4 floor plus 1 1/2 spacer for wheel well is
4 1/4 I get a couple rub marks but my tear is 1100 to 1200 lbs.

Safe number is 5"
Growing older but not up !

I typically allow for 3" of movement in the up direction.

I have a (slightly modified) .skp of the 1700lb model. It's quite similar... PM me if you want it.

That's supposed to be Autocad compatible. So tell me if you can read this...

No dice... It recognizes and opens the file but gives an error saying some components are not supported and gives me an empty drawing.

Is there anyway I can upload a file for people to look at? I cobbled together a quick drawing as a proof of concept sort of thing with some measurements and components from other drawings. I thought I would see what people think. I have not done any drafting since high school / college and that was all on paper, so the drawings might be a little rough.

We don't have a file repository, YET. But if you send me the file, I can post it for you.
