Hello from Florida

Postby cvilt » Sat Aug 24, 2013 3:36 pm

Hello and thank you for this forum. My name is Curt and I live between Sarasota and Tampa with my wife of 32 years this coming Thursday and two Whippets. Our only child got married last year and I am finally accepting her Huusssband as family :NC  . My wife was searching the web for small affordable hard sided trailers and liked the TDs. Being a contractor I like to make everything I possibly can and found this forum while I was looking for ideas.
We belong to a local boat club with some RV hookups. The late nights and having to cut our days on the water short or boarding our girls (whippets) has us preparing to build a camper to suit us and the girls. I would love to build a tiny house but a health issue limits my available energy. While searching this forum I am fascinated at some of the true craftsmanship in some in your builds. Thanks again

It sounds like it's not ability you're lacking but the strength and endurance to build yourself a trailer. May I suggest you look into building a Foamie? They are light in weight and quite manageable for an army of one. It's not a traditional building method but many of us have built them and we love it... Come on over to the Foamie thread and take a look...

I was drawn to the foamies and considered doing a cargo conversion also. Being a builder with a carpentry background I really like wood. Looks like I will be doing allot of searching this forum :)
