Another from VA

Postby musicman » Thu Aug 12, 2010 12:18 pm

Hi all, another VA boy, er old coot. Since I can't find exactly what I want without a title hassle, I thought I'd try to build. Looks like after seeing all of them the square teardrop will probably(with changes) be what I do. Have enjoyed ALL the designs I've seen so far. Also the different ways folks go about doing and solving problems. Wish me luck. John
Thanks for all I have

We're in Bedford County, between Bedford and Vinton. I do have 1 question for anyone. It seems to me that changing clothes while lying on a bed has got to be hard to do, especially as I get older. How do others get around this. I was thinking maybe some type of "pop-top" for standing or slouching room but that may be hard to put in because everything is kinda tight. Anyway will work on it. Musicman:

I'm 52 and don't yet have a problem changing inside the tear, but there are a lot that build privacy canopies around their entry door, so they can step out and change while standing. Browse around the galleries or threads and you'll see many ideas. I have a First Up awning, which I can purchase sides for, so when the time comes, I'll do that. I park the tear under it anyway so I can get in and out in the rain without getting the inside of the tear wet.

John,

Lots of folks have some sort of 'changing room' setup. Runs the gamut from shower curtains hanging from a pvc frame attached to the roof of the TD to those tall, skinny tents used for outhouses that you can find at WalMart or any sporting goods store. Some have even made or purchased tents or screen rooms with walls that button or zip to the opening of the side door frame.

Here are some threads that deal with changing room ideas:

You're only limited by your imagination and that pesky budget thing.
