Hi all,
I am sure that you can guess my name and where I live ;)
I was active in Boy Scouts for over 35 years and have taken the past 5 years off. I started camping with Scouts at age 11, the "Old Program".
I have camped with scouts and family since then.
I hope with the following information I don't "get the BOOT" from the forum  . We have a 1990 coleman popup.
The reason I joined the forum is because our oldest daughter is thinking about a TTT. I will probably end up building it for her, we are looking at the weekender. She and her 8yo son will use it. (they tell us that there is a freight train or two in our camper at night). She is not the biggest "outdoor" person but she has enjoyed camping with us, and she knows it is good for her son too.
Well I think I have blabbed on long enough.......

Hi, Tom

My dad died years ago, but I know he would be out there helping me build my TTT. I have good memories of camping in the tent-top trailer my grandfather build in the 1940s, and then gave to my parents in the 60s. I hope to make similar happy memories with my own 9-yo twins.

Have fun helping build than trailer! (And check out the Foamies section down below the build journals section. Light-weight, fast, and relatively inexpensive!)

Welcome to the forum Tom!

I'm about 65 miles south of you and am in the process of building my version (until my wife decides "I" need to change something) of a weekender myself. Good luck on your build. I found most all of my info on this site. Lot's of good folk on here, and helpful too.

While your at it, check out www.tearjerkers.net website, there's a Hoosier Chapter on there which I'm sure they'll be glad to add you to.

If you have time this weekend, come join us at the Crossroads of America gathering down at McCormicks Creek SP, it's gonna be huge!
Here's the website for more info: http://cra2011.weebly.com/index.html
I was hoping to be far enough along with mine to go and participate, but currently camping is just a spectator sport for me.
