Then I gave up on the new popup purchase and recenty started dreaming about a used Airstream.

Maybe a fixer upper.

Once I saw the towing weight on some of the Airstreams even gutting one and doing a light build inside seemed expensive, daunting, and did I mention expensive to tow?

Then I found a youtube of some guy with his Camp-Inn 560 which led to Little Guy in the comments section. They looked kind of neat.

So I called up the local dealer and he explained he was just walking out but I could see them on the lot. So I drove out to Paris, Texas Saturday night (4 hour round trip) with a buddy to check them out. Took lots of pictures.

Then I started thinking again. Which is always dangerous. I thought surely you could add some custom stuff to these or just build them yourself.

That is how I ended up dazed, confused and sleepless on your site.

I feel like I've found the internet all over again. I'm overwhelmed with info. Great forum you have here.

I'm feeling a little bit inadequate with my woodcrafting skills but figure I can make something simple to get me in the game and continue improving.

I've got some time to think as I clean out my garage. I'm trying to decide if I want to try to salvage a frame or buy new. If I buy new get a bolt kit or prewelded? I have a friend who welds but I haven't seen enough of his work to decide if I want to bet my butt or the heads of those behind me on the highway on his skill level. I would be okay with the room in the TD for sleeping and sitting out storms and I would like to have room for the optional dog bed should we decide he can behave himself at the camp. I'm thinking perhaps a grasshopper as they look easy and perhaps a little more room in the sleep section can be easily accomodated. I have a bit more reading, planning, scheming, dreaming and garage cleaning to do. Thanks for putting this forum together. It appears to be a great gang of folks. I can't wait to get out and meet some of you. I'll have to bring the tent for a while.
