Newbie from Indiana

Postby jim littiken » Tue Feb 05, 2013 7:17 am

Hi, My wife and I live by McCormick Creek State Park and went to the Tear Jerkers Meet by accident last year. We have talked about building a tear drop since. We saw some beautiful trailers and meet a bunch of very nice people. Sunday My son and I went and got a pile of plywood and laid out the sides so I guess were really going to build a trailer.

We did not make the CRA gathering last year but will this year. Yes lots of great folks and very neat trailers. If you click the TD Friendly Websites at the top of the page, Tearjerker is at the top of the list, there are other gatherings and opportunities to see and gain ideas.

Welcome, will you camp with us all for this years event? Sometimes a goal date is helpful. Even if the paint is not dry! Hope you can make it and enjoy the build process, it's a big part of the fun.

Jim you are like some of the rest of us, time is flying ! The CRA was summer of 2011.

Yep teardroppin in very infectious !

Drag that project in the garage and get going ! You have 5 1/2 mounths to be campable, thats very doable. I built the barn in 5 weekends for a spring parade it wasn't done but it was in the parade and we camped in it the night before.

We all hope you will join our merry little band of campers. The Hoosier chapter of the Tearjerkers are a very active bunch. We have gatherings 4 times a year for our group camping excursions and have a great time.

We will be looking for you ! Bob Henry

P.S. We are here to help just holler .
Growing older but not up !

Welcome, Jim, from a fellow Hoosier!! Be sure to go to McCormick's Creek in July for the 2013 Crossroads of America Gathering. I'll be betting there will be more teardrops than 2 years ago!!

Boy oh boy, you've went and done it now!!! :o

You know the first couple of times lookin' around the wedsite are free, but once you get addicted, it's gonna cost ya :money:

Now that you've started with your first build, it's only a matter of time before you start thinking about your next "fix". (even before the first one is completed) This stuff works as a Hallucinogenic on me, oh ya, I had visions of how it should be, but they were'nt real, had to back up and do it the way it would work.

Seriously? Welcome Jim, from a fellow Hoosier from the Southern end of the State. Don't forget, pictures are like cookie's to us, and WE LIKE COOKIES!!!! :pictures:

By the way, no pressure, but the 2013 CRA gathering is only 168 days away, no pressure, no pressure.... :? :D

I hope to be at the CRA but more than that I want to go to Canada in it in 104 days. I built my house in about that time so it should be doable I hope.

Jim,
I just joined the forum and am starting my first build. Looking for someone in similar situation to exchange ideas. Do you have dimensions and profile? Mine is a 5X10 Grumman 2 on a Harbor Freight trailer.
