Rough translation (I think)...

Hello, I'd like to know if somebody knows some Argentinean who has this type of camper. I am 27 years old and have been camping since I was a boy, and I have never seen a teardrop. I only discovered them without trying on the Internet, and now I am already on the verge of building one, and this forum has been a great help, and I look forward to your help and recommendations…

Bien venidos! Caseydog's Spanish is a little better than mine (I do a little better with Portuguese), but there should be a few people that can translate for you if you need it. People are very helpful here and you shouldn't have any troubles getting numerous responses to your questions and a lot of good advice.

Translation:

Hi neighbour!, to tell you the truth, I haven't been in Sout America in a long time ( sorry, my laptop can't make a special character) the first time I saw a teardrop was also on internet, I figure that finding lumber in Argentina is easy, but obtaining quality plywood is a little tougher. If you need any help translating what the rest of the guys say, just let me know.

Whereabouts in Argentina?, I was there in 1976, and I still remember many places over there...

Hola !!!

Postby ajaversa » Mon Oct 04, 2010 2:20 pm

http://www.tinytears.cc/scans.html

http://www.teardrops.net/plans01.html

http://www.woodworkersworkshop.com/resources/index.php?cat=693

http://www.angib.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/teardrop/tear00.htm

Translation:

Right on!, curiosity is a " super power" hehehe, here you can see some original drawings, scanned from old magazines, if only to give you an idea, they give you the outline to design your own " teardrop".

It is worthwhile to look over here, as they have several profiles you can use, depending on which one you like.

Here are some profiles and general guidelines on how to make them.

PD, I went to Buenos Aires, Boca, and a day at the Tiger River, I still remember the " french fries palace", they had some epic steaks! he he he.

Bienvenidos!

Buenasuerte, y si necesita algo mas dejale decirnos.

Mi esposa y yo estamos muy interesados in visitando Argentina y Uruguay tambien...

Well, long story short, all my family has been in the travel industry, including me, ( I ended up being a commercial pilot in Peru, lots of work, no money..hehehe), and we had lots of courtesy tickets to fly on any airline with an agreement as stand by pax, so we went around the world a couple of times, Argentina for all I know today is a little pricey, regarding Uruguay, I can ask my neigbour, she is from Paraguay, so she knows the ins and outs of traveling down south. will post in a different thread what I can gather from her conversations.

To avoid any further conflict, would it be possible to include an english translation along with spanish in your posts? I don't want to see this thread head down hill. Keep it civil. BTW Gage, that's not the nicest way to welcome new members to the board. I know you can do better.
Thanks in advance.

I got the impression that this was an international forum built around the hobby of teardrops and tiny travel trailers.

And, actually, Argentinians are Americans. South Americans.

If you don't like people talking in a language other than English, you don't have to read it. As for me, I like the idea of people from other countries spreading the teardrop lifestyle, no matter what language they speak.

If that offends you, like a wise man once said, "Oh well."

Hola Senor Gage,

People speak and write many languages in the Americas, and no one has ever been excluded from the forum for having a little fun,(except maybe you a time or two)

Here's a new tool for you http://translate.google.com

I'll volunteer to put up a translation, if that will make people feel better. I may not be able to do it right away, but I'll do what I can.

Everyone who has an interest in teardrops should feel welcome here, IMO.

Thank you, CD. Now that we have that settled, any further negative posts in this thread will be removed.
