Mccjeff, good for you, finally after all of these years, you have discovered the wonders of teardrop trailers. First of all, welcome to the forum. We are a bunch of folks just like you, who at some time in the past were bitten by the teardrop trailer bug. Beware, your life will never be the same.
Now, all you have to do is decide what your build is going to look like. What size, shape, kind of material on the outside, galley layout and decisions about bells and whistles that you will include or delete. Do check out the Hall of fame in the upper left corner of this page. Then check out the various build info shown at the top, and you will be well on your way to start sketching and planning the teardrop of your dreams.
We are here to help, all you have to do is ask. One suggestion, attend a teardrop gathering in your neck of the woods and try to hook up with a local builder or teardrop owner and you will be amazed how helpful they can be. Then, don't let any grass grow under your feet, get that trailer frame, start slapping lumber on it, some plywood sides and roof, and bingo, you have a teardrop built, now all you have to do is finish it.
Remember, if you really want to experience those music festivals in style, build that trailer as soon as you can, and then you will be the admired ones at the rest stop, that will be willing to share the awsome advantages of your teardrop trailer. Beware, you will have to beat away on-lookers with a stick.
Be prepared to be contacted by other teardroppers in your area........hold your breath, here they come! (lets go, locals, chime in here)
See, I told you we were a friendly, helpful group..............

Roly, an old retired woody teardrop enthusiast anxious to see your future pictures and hear about the results of your teardrop trailer build.
PS, Oh, let me give you a tip. If you want to remain empty-nesters, change your phone number and the locks on all of your doors. It worked for me and after a decade or so, your kids will talk to you once again.
