Shopping for trailer

Postby Anxious to Tear » Fri Jan 22, 2010 12:10 pm

We live in the Atlanta area and are in the market for our first teardrop. We've very excited! Of course, as usual, we're looking for that great deal!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Tell us a little bit more about what you're looking for. What kind of vehicle will you be towing it with? Do you want a galley or do you prep/cook/grill on a table? How much headroom do you need in the sleeping area? That sort of thing.

Let's see...
Galley - I was counting on the hatchback style with galley. Am handy enough to do minor modifications, repairs, etc.
Length - My husband is 6 foot and we have a border collie.
Pulling it with a Dakota. No issue there.
Must be able to be put in home garage.
Want 2 door style.
Roadworthy - prefer larger wheels.
Looking to buy in a couple of months to use end of May.
$3000 +/-

Looking for teardrop

Postby Kathy53 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 3:18 pm

My sisters just moved to Deluth a couple of months ago more or less.

If you haven't already you might want to join tearjerkers. There is a link on top of the web site. In the classified section there is a teardrop listed by Susan that is 5x8 I don't know if the length is long enough but you could check it out. location is in Tennesse. There is a 1947 listed there also but it may be gone as he had listed it in E-bay that one is listed as 6x12 it hasn't been listed as sold so maybe it did not sell on E-bay. Did you check the wanted or for sale here. Good luck

I am also looking for one but I live in California.

Thanks! Yes, I've looked everywhere. Seems to be a lot more going on in the west than there is here in the south. I'll check out tearjerkers! Thanks again! Hope your sister likes Duluth!

shopping for trailer

Postby Kathy53 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 3:32 pm

By the way welcome to the group.

One more found.

On the wanted or for sale section there is a Wazat $3,500 listed located in Tennesse which sounds long enough. It looks kind of neat.

Yes, we've been bitten. We started out years ago with a pop-up (and two children). Then we went to a Sunlite, a little bigger. Next step was to just tent camp. Now we really just need a place to put our head and store our stuff. We want to travel without having to set up a tent, or pop-up, whatever.

There is a Wazat for sale here on the board by one of our fellow Tennessee Volun'tears. His name is Kenny and he had twin girls this past year, so he REALLY needs to sell it! I've seen it and it's nice and in great shape.

Here is the link... http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=34748

Hope this helps,

The Wazat was listed in craigslist a few days ago and the seller said that as long as the ad was still there, it hadn't been sold, that he'd remove it if it sold. It's gone. It's sold? Looks like the same Wazat.

Still there

Postby Kathy53 » Fri Jan 22, 2010 7:34 pm

It is still there. It just does not come up under teardrop trailer.

Try bringing it up with the town name, Dandridge

Use this link. The other one is not working.

http://knoxville.craigslist.org/rvs/1565970402.html

(Some one keeps flagging his post. Some people on craigslist think that is funny.)

Or use the pm on this site. He also has it listed in the for sale/wanted
