First of all thank you to all of those who have contributed to this forum - it is great!
I found you 2 weeks ago, which was only 1 week after deciding that I really want to build a teardrop. I've been reading up on them ever since and have decided to get serious about a self-build.
I'll be planning for a few months yet, all in hope that by my 6 week summer holiday I will be in a position to build. I plan to build a lightweight, stylish teardrop, roughly 4.5' high, 11' long and 5' wide (including out-board fenders. Style and low weight are high on the priorities list; this trailer will be towed by an Audi A2 TDi. I am considering building a dual hatch design to allow the trailer to be used as a cargo trailer for large items, such as 4 mountain bikes!
I am determined to build from my own plans and to learn how to do as much as possible. This could be painful, as the most adventurous project I have undertaken so far has been replacing a VW Polo headgasket, but that just adds to the fun

No doubt my questions will begin soon - please feel free to comment on the plan so far!
All the best,
