Hello from the UK

Hello,

First of all thank you to all of those who have contributed to this forum - it is great!

I found you 2 weeks ago, which was only 1 week after deciding that I really want to build a teardrop. I've been reading up on them ever since and have decided to get serious about a self-build.

I'll be planning for a few months yet, all in hope that by my 6 week summer holiday I will be in a position to build. I plan to build a lightweight, stylish teardrop, roughly 4.5' high, 11' long and 5' wide (including out-board fenders. Style and low weight are high on the priorities list; this trailer will be towed by an Audi A2 TDi. I am considering building a dual hatch design to allow the trailer to be used as a cargo trailer for large items, such as 4 mountain bikes!

I am determined to build from my own plans and to learn how to do as much as possible. This could be painful, as the most adventurous project I have undertaken so far has been replacing a VW Polo headgasket, but that just adds to the fun

No doubt my questions will begin soon - please feel free to comment on the plan so far!

All the best,
Swalsey

Hi Swalsey,
Welcome to the forum from another Brit on the board.

Its a fantastic Journey building your own trailer, but be warned... It can be highly addictive

I'm about to start number 4.... and I'm just as excited tinking about the new build as I was about the previous builds.

We have a growing number of teardroppers in the UK, with over 100 members in the Teardrop Club of Great Britain 8) 8)

Please take loads of photos of your build and share them with us
8) 8) We love seeing what your up to.

Cheers Dave
