Bitten by the bug in Indiana

Postby JHolden » Mon Feb 18, 2013 4:40 pm

Hey guys I've recently been bitten by the teardrop bug and have been searching the site for a few weeks. I think I've settles on trying to buy a Little guy for this season and build my own for next season. I hope to get one nailed down as soon as possible so I can go to some of the tearjerker meets in the Midwest. Also I'm not sure but I may be one of the younger members as well at only 21 :) not sure if many other people my age are into these cool little campers

Anyway that's probably enough rattling on. If anyone knows of a good little guy for sale I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!

(Looking to keep it at no more than $3500) depending on its age and options I may go up or down on the price

Welcome to the site. You will find most of the information you need here. As for finding a trailer, if you give us your location it may help. Good Luck in your search!!! :applause:

Thanks guys! I updated my location information and I posted over in the general discussion about a possible candidate, just not sure it's worth money. Would have Loved to have gotten the Greenbay themed upgraded little guy that recently sold on here.

Welcome J
Start searching ebay!
There are lots of deals out there. But this Forum is not much on the buying and selling of things.
And Age? Teardrop trailers are attractive to people without kids that like to either travel alone or with a loved one.
Thus the common age groups are either 20 to 30yrs with no kids or 50 + empty nesters falling in love all over.
Not many between 30 & 50 yrs!!!
So you will fit right in.

Hey JHolden

Type in a google search

list alert teardrop camper indiana

some times It will not display the right state, so Pick the right state “ IN “ in the drop down menu.
Then hit search ( blue button search button)

I believe it will default to Bloomington, and finds nothing. But pick the drop down menu next to
Bloomington and select a state region area closer to you and hit search again.

There are 3 little guys in Evansville listings, to give you an idea. Check out the read one 5x10 in Indianapolis
listings.

Oh and Welcome to the forums.

I hope that doesn't make me an odd ball. :o I'm 52 with a 12 and 10 year old and I'm going to stick them in a tent! The tears for me and my old man, if I can get him to come. He's not much into tents!

JHolden, Welcome from down in Evansville!

Look up the Indiana chapter of Tearjerkers. They are a great group. And don't worry about your age, we come in all sizes, types and vintages (just like our trailers). All are welcome.

Yeah it looks like there is a pretty good local group. I've been looking on eBay and Craigslist as well as some online Rv traders and just haven't turned much up that isn't brand new (Which is just out of my price range)

Hi Karen
I knew I was going get a response like this from somebody here on the Forum with my comment.
And I am sure you are not the only one tnat will respond.
Sandi is only 48 and she hates it when I call her odd, so that it is not really what I was trying to do!! ;)

Hi back Brian,
I'm just having fun and finding my way! teardrops, but not camping are new to me. It's great to be around a like minded group of people. Can't wait to meet some of you in person. Just waiting for my trailer frame from Harbor freight to get started.

Welcome aboard, J. Hey, those youngsters don't even know what old is. Actually, age is just a state of mind. We even have some octogenarians (over 80 years old) here on the forum, and one is writing this post right now. Now, get to building that teardrop.
