hello from Georgia

Postby m.colley » Fri Feb 19, 2016 9:13 pm

Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I'm here getting a few ideas and hope to be able to share a few myself. The old lady and I bought a Cynergy 7 x16 cargo trailer in Nov 2015 to convert into a combination hunting cabin, toy hauler, and camper. We both love camping and have for years, mainly under the stars or in tents. Last year after a 4 day motorcycle tour camping in a tent we decided we wanted a little bit more but didn't want to drop 15+ grand on a toy hauler, hence the purchase of the cargo trailer.

I live less 4 hours from most of the Georgia trailer manufacturers but bought from a local dealer and had them special order our 7x16. We had it built w/ tandem axle's, radial tires, 6'9" interior height, 16" oc walls, ceiling and floors, 30x15 window, spare tire mount on the hitch, extended triple tongue, heavy duty ramp door w/flap and RV style door. I had the exact same trailer quoted from both the factory and my local dealer and there wasn't but a $150.00 difference and my local dealer will handle all my warranty issues if the need arises.

We ride 4wheelers, canoe, fish, hunt and own a 2011 Harley RoadKing and plan on putting the trailer to use on a regular basis, once finished. In my former life I built mobile homes, custom mobile offices and modular homes before running factory warranty service on the road for seven plus years.

Thanks, I'm originally from Brunswick myself even though we moved in late 1973 to Columbus, just before Glynn Co Navy base closed. The ole lady and I were just down your way at the end of January, that was the first time I had been back since 97, wow has Brunswick grown since then.

Welcome! I see quite a few Georgians on board. We should consider a summer meet-up!

I'm Paul and I'm in Blue Ridge. Building an oversized standee on a 6' x 12'. Avid motorcyclist here, too!

Hiya Paul,
Your right there does seem to be quite a few Georgians on here.I spend several several weekends a year up in your area, now if I could only get frequent stayer miles I'd be set. We motorcycle camp at Two of Suches several times a year and I'm seriously thinking about "buying in" to Unicoi Springs Resort over in Helen. We've already got three trips booked for this summer, one in Hiawassee for the state HOG rally in Sept, one at Ironhorse Lodge for our annual Dragon Run and one in the Cherokee area.

Good Luck with your build.

Thanks for the welcome and the website. I'll have to look into that. Love the Savannah area.
